(Frequently Asked Questions)

Q:  What is the difference between sandblasting and etching?

A: -Sandblasted designs are deep cut simple line art with little detail.  The lines are usually dark in appearance. Not suitable for portraits or photos. This technique must be used on gray granite & other light colored granites and is also an option for darker granites.

-Laser Etched designs are not cut as deep into the surface as sandblasted designs. They have finer details and the image is created on the computer.  Portraits and line art both can be laser etched.

A: We can etch marble plates, pet markers and more. For more information please go to the OTHER PRODUCTS tab on the top right of this page.

Q: What colors of granite can a photo be etched on?

A: We only etch photos on India Black & Midnight Black  If you would like a photo placed on another color, we would do an inlay.  An inlay is where a black granite or marble tile has the photo etched onto it.  We then cut a hole in the monument and attach the plate with the photo.  Inlays start at $150.00 for a  5 x 7.  Prices may vary with size.

A:  We do not accept returns.  Please ensure the monument is approved prior to placing an order with us.

Q:  Who lays the foundation and installs the monument?

A:  You would need to contact the cemetery to see if they can recommend someone.  If you are located in MD, DE, PA, or NJ contact us to see if we can install the monument for an additional charge. If you are not close enough for us to install the monument and the cemetery also can not assist you, you can try a monument dealer in your area.
